SMP’s Review of Locavore
I recently visited Locavore, and it was an exciting culinary adventure! The restaurant’s all-day breakfast menu is a standout, and I had the chance to try several dishes.
The Crispy Corned Beef Silog is a must-try. The housemade corned beef was crispy and flavorful, paired perfectly with garlic fried rice and sunny-side-up eggs.
The Duck Lugaw was another highlight—rich and hearty, with tender duck meat and a comforting broth. I also enjoyed the Grilled Bistek Omurice, which had juicy beef and a delicious bistek gravy.
For a more unique experience, the Turon with banana rhum, candied langka, and dulce de leche was an indulgent treat. The contrast of textures and flavors made it memorable.
I also tried the Garlic Butter Sugpo—the prawns were juicy and flavorful, cooked with just the right amount of garlic and butter.
However, the Duck Lugaw with Foie Gras did not quite meet my expectations. While the duck was tender, the foie gras didn’t add much to the dish and felt a bit out of place.
On the beverage side, the Pineapple Juice was refreshing and complemented the rich flavors of the food nicely. I also had a Café Latte, which was smooth and well-balanced.
