SMP’s Review of Madam Kwan
I recently dined at Madam Kwan, and it was quite an experience. The food here really hits the spot, offering a wide range of traditional Malaysian dishes.
To start, I enjoyed the Malaysian Satay. The skewers were perfectly grilled and came with a delicious peanut sauce. It was a great appetizer.
The Nasi Lemak – Beef Rendang was another standout. The beef was tender, and the combination of coconut rice, spicy anchovies, and shrimp floss was just perfect.
I also tried the Asam Laksa, which was tangy and flavorful, packed with fresh mackerel and crunchy vegetables.
The Nasi Bojari was impressive too. It came with crispy chicken, flavorful assam prawns, and beef rendang, making it a hearty meal.
For a side, the Deep Fried Dumplings were a bit of a letdown. Although they were crispy, the filling was a bit bland compared to the other dishes. On the bright side, the Sago Gula Melaka dessert was delightful. It had just the right amount of sweetness and was a perfect end to the meal.
I paired my meal with the Lychee Lemon Cooler, which was refreshing and complemented the spicy dishes well. Madam Kwan’s variety of beverages also added to the overall experience.
Madam Kwan offers a fantastic array of Malaysian dishes with great flavors. The only downside was the slightly underwhelming dumplings, but the rest of the meal more than made up for it.
